LLM for Impact B.V. is a Dutch startup combining AI and geoscience expertise. We help organisations turn historical technical records into structured, usable data, giving legacy archives a new purpose.
What does LLM for Impact do in geothermal energy?
We renovate subsurface data by extracting geological intervals, lithological descriptions and petrophysical curves from scanned well logs and historical documents. Our hybrid workflow combines automation, AI and geological review. The resulting datasets can support geothermal assessment, geological interpretation and modelling.
What is your role?
I am Hawkar Ali Abdulhaq, PhD, Director of LLM for Impact. My PhD in Earth Sciences involved research related to geothermal energy. I bring this geological background into developing and reviewing our workflows: AI assists, while a geologist remains in the loop for the final review.
Why did LLM for Impact join Geothermie Nederland?
We joined to engage with the Dutch geothermal community, understand operators’ practical data challenges and find partners for pilot projects. We also hope to explore research collaboration with organisations such as TNO.
What do you expect from the association, and what is your request to the network?
We welcome introductions to operators, researchers and organisations with legacy subsurface archives that are difficult to use. We would be pleased to offer a free, tailored demonstration using 1-5 representative, anonymised logs, showing the extracted results and explaining where geological review is needed.
